  Valeo buys Irish cameras company

September 2007

Valeo has bought Irish electronics firm Connaught for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition will help the Tier One achieve its goal of doubling its driving assistance system sales by 2010.

Connaught designs and manufactures camera systems and has annual sales of around €37 million. Valeo will incorporate its technologies into its parking assistance and low-speed manoeuvring systems.

Valeo CEO Thierry Morin said: “Connaught’s solutions are fully complementary to our driving assistance range. We’re confident this market segment has great potential.”
