Denso sets up powertrain control subsidiary in Japan

18 November 2008

Japanese-owned parts maker Denso is to set up a new company to manufacture engine management and control systems.

Denso Powertrain Technologies Corporation is being set up with an investment of $91.5 million at the Daian plant in Mie prefecture in Japan. The plant will make powertrain control systems for vehicles worldwide.

Facilities will include test facilities including a short proving ground. The aim, said Denso, is to develop tests to optimise engines and the controls to achieve better fuel consumption, emissions and driving performance.
