PSA Group leads the way in French patenting

PSA Peugeot-Citroën filed and received more patents in 2007 than any other French company, according to returns from INPI, the French intellectual property institute.

The group received 921 patents across the year in areas such as powertrain, emission controls, bodywork, brakes and transmissions.

PSA said also that its PSA Production System that is now used in every one of its manufacturing plants has been heavily patented, with 2007 patents on areas such as assembly line handling systems and robotics.
