Romax signs deal to supply gearbox software to China

22 September 2009

Transmission design company Romax has signed a deal with the Chinese gearbox maker Changqing Tsinghan Industrial which will enable the Chinese group to use RomaxDesigner simulation technology to improve gearbox design.

The deal includes expert tuition in advanced areas such as modelling and analysis and design for NVH (noise, vibration and harshness).

Tsinghan is a Tier One supplier in China and a major supplier of gearboxes to Chang'an Motors.

In addition to the software and the training, Romax will be doing assessments on Tsinghan's current and planned transmissions, including designs for automatic boxes, with the aim of identifying targets for improved future products.
